Gastrostomy Tube Care and Management Workshop
- The Gastrostomy Tube Care and Management Workshop is designed to provide learners with the underpinning concepts to explore the care given post operatively to patients who had undergone gastrostomy tube insertion procedure in order to develop participant’s knowledge and skills in the care to the adult patients under this operation in the healthcare setting.
- The qualification is ideal for new starters and experienced staff requiring a refresher alike and is designed for the health and social care sectors including private and government hospitals, ambulance services, nursing homes, care homes, domiciliary care providers, doctor’s surgeries etc.
- The qualification has been designed to incorporate the guidance and best practices of post operative care of paediatric tracheostomy from NICE guidelines and other government guidance.
Aims of the workshop:
- Explore concepts of contemporary gastrostomy indications, complications , care and management theory in order to develop your knowledge within a multi- professional health and social care setting
- Contribute to and manage a high performance and effective skills in management of gastrostomy feeding ,management and care
- Develop your ability to link theories with practice through critical skills assessment and clinical competencies.
- Enhance the knowledge and skills of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in performing safely and competently the care and management of gastrostomy tube.
